My Story
Family has always been at the center of my life. I learned early on the value of hard work, responsibility, and looking out for the people you care about. In 2017, I lost my father, and it was a turning point that showed me how much these conversations and plans mean to a family.
When my father passed, I learned firsthand how many decisions a family has to make in just a few days, from choosing a funeral home to comparing prices and services, all while grieving. Going through that showed me how much easier those days could be with a little planning ahead. That’s why I created the Gavrel Family Planning Kit, to help you organize your belongings and final wishes and leave a survivor’s guide for your loved ones, and the Gavrel Legacy Book, to help you preserve your story.
Losing my daughter last year to a rare disease was a fresh reminder of it all happening again. The harsh reality of losing someone you truly love, and then trying to piece it all together with what you have left, is probably the hardest part. You just can’t fit the same pieces back together without the one you love.
I started Gavrel Guidance as a simple planning system to help people honor their past, protect their present and prepare for their future. It’s built around three free books, the Gavrel Family Planning Kit, the Gavrel Legacy Book and the Retirement Readiness Review, to help you feel more confident about retirement.
Before this, I worked in finance, healthcare, and the energy business. Put that together with losing Dad, and I know how confusing this stuff can get. My job is to make it make sense.
These days I spend a lot of time at kitchen tables around Richmond and Houston, and on the phone with families in the other states where I’m licensed. I wouldn’t trade it.
